U.S. Exporter Assistance
Trade Shows in a New Context: The Overseas Trade
Support Branch
For
years, FAS assisted U.S. suppliers in entering,
or improving their performance in, foreign
markets by handling nearly every detail of USA
Pavilions at major trade shows and holding its
own exhibitions. Although today’s FAS Overseas
Trade Support Branch rarely handles shows
directly, it still provides the liaison,
coordination, and information that U.S.
suppliers need to succeed at trade shows.
Trade Shows and Other
Opportunities

Chinese Mooncake Mania May Offer a Golden
Opportunity for U.S. Ingredients
In
China, sales of mooncakes — pastries enjoyed
during the mid-autumn festival — are booming
along with the economy as families, friends, and
associates seek generous gifts for this
important festive season. Record sales in
calendar year 2006 of $1.43 billion – plus
growing hunger for mooncakes with innovative
fillings – could mean a niche market for U.S.
ingredients. |
